The Adelaide Oval Stadium Management Authority (AOSMA) is the organisation responsible for the management of the Adelaide Oval precinct and is a joint venture between football (South Australian National Football League) and cricket (South Australian Cricket Association). The Adelaide Oval is a world-class, multi-purpose 53,000 seat stadium. It is Adelaide’s number one tourism destination, having attracted over 1.8 million visitors a year and is a significant contributor to the State’s tourism assets with the award winning RoofClimb and Stadium tours, as well as Australia’s first ever integrated stadium Hotel – Oval Hotel.
AOSMA employs approximately 220 full-time staff, plus 1,500 casual employees, in areas such as Corporate Services, Stadium Operations, Tourism, Food & Beverage, Sales, ICT, Maintenance and Grounds, making Adelaide Oval one of the state’s largest employers in the hospitality and tourism sectors. Head Baker
We have an exciting opportunity for a enthusiastic Head Baker to support the Executive Chef Team and greater Kitchen Brigade to lead the success of Adelaide Oval. Along with the Executive Chef Team, you will be overseeing the baking operations across the Oval. The Head Baker will play an integral role in the kitchen team and the successful applicant must have proven hands on experience in a busy venue that thrives on providing exceptional food.
What you will be doing
- Prepare and bake a wide range of bread Products, including baguettes, sourdoughs and several speciality bakery lines.
- Follow standard recipes and production schedules to ensure consistent product quality.
- Assisting the Executive Chef with stock control and production expenses.
- Operate bakery equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain a clean and organised baking area, adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Coaching and supporting the development of Apprentices and Baker Assistants.
To be successful in this role, you will have
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Baker in a commercial bakery.
- Experience of working in the Food and Beverage industry, preferably within a stadium.
- People Management.
- Proficiency in dough mixing, shaping, and baking techniques.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including nights & weekends.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a passion for baking.
