Diabetes Victoria is seeking a dynamic and experienced executive to lead our Diabetes Prevention agenda, including the Life! Program – Australia's largest behavioural-change and healthy lifestyle initiative.
Reporting to the CEO, this role involves:
- Leading a team of professionals to advance our prevention work across programs, preventive care and healthy environments.
- Developing and implementing strategic plans for maximum community participation
- Monitoring program effectiveness to increase priority population reach and make necessary adjustments to achieve established targets
- Building relationships with key stakeholders, including government
- Capitalising on our trusted brand name to forge new strategies, partnerships and opportunities for prevention.
To be successful you will be able to demonstrate:
- Proven experience at an executive level in a health setting for chronic health conditions prevention or management
- Excellent strategic thinking skills and proven ability to innovate
- Strong thought leadership and relationship skills with government and other partners – ideally in a health context
- Strong people leadership skills to effectively manage a professional team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans to achieve priority objectives
- Experience in managing initiatives to meet contractual obligations and reporting timelines

Qualifications:
- Master's or Post Grad. degree in Health Promotion, Public Health, or related field
