Redland Premium Fruit (RPF) is a Goulburn Valley based fruit processing and packing enterprise and is part of the Redland business group. Redland Premium Fruit (RPF) operates fruit packing facilities, cool rooms and warehouses in Mooroopna and Shepparton.
The Redland business group has a significant portfolio of farms across regional Australia and is currently growing citrus, apples, table grapes, stone fruit and kiwifruit in Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and Western Australia.
Role Description
The Head Diesel Mechanic is responsible for the efficient and effective maintenance and servicing of RPF plant and fleet to industry and manufacturer standard(s). This role oversees the workshop, the day-to-day operations, while fostering skills and promoting growth, and seeks opportunities to improve processes.
Primary responsibilities:
Duties of this role may include but are not limited to the following:
- Building, supervising and leading a team of skilled technicians, and workshop staff, including apprentices.
- Plan and organize daily workflow to maximize productivity and meet production targets.
- Monitor and enforce safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure working environment.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members, promoting skill development and cross-training.
- Implement and enforce quality control measures to uphold high standards of workmanship.
- Continuously seek opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
- Take ownership, demonstrate accountability and integrity in all that you do while providing a clear direction forward.
- Maintaining detailed history and routine record keeping of servicing, breakdowns, and stock inventory in the MEX database
- General service and preventative maintenance of company vehicles.
- Light vehicles, Fleet, Cars
- Trucks and trailers
- Forklifts and various other equipment
- Proactively approach all aspects of safety requirements of all vehicles allocated to your care.
- Ensure all vehicles are repaired to manufacturers standards and state roadworthy standards.
Attributes and experience
Professional background, experience & qualifications
- Trade qualified Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Be self-motivated with strong time management and reporting skills
- Hold a MC, HC or HR licence preferred
- Forklift licence (optional)
- Self-manage, prioritise and work autonomously.
- Independent troubleshooting/problem solving skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Positive can-do attitude to all requests, and you must be honest and reliable.
- Maintain customer / supplier relationships
- Must take reasonable care for his or her own health and safety; and for others by co-operating with company safe work practices.
