About the Role

Working out of our brand new venue in Eumundi, this role will see the successful applicant establishing the inaugural distillery for Matso's and Good Drinks in Queensland. We will need you to develop a range of spirits, beers and RTDs.  Innovate to create flagship recipes for rum and vodka and document procedures for their manufacture. Oversee maintenance of brewery and distillery and produce the existing range of Matso's products. We want somebody who can lead and develop capability in the production and hospitality team, enabling us to grow our footprint in Queensland, further the Matso's brand and deliver high quality products to the venue and wider market.

We are looking for somebody with existing experience in the world of distilling who is keen to expand their skillset and learn how to brew the existing Matso's range.

Skills
•    Proven ability to motivate and drive teams.
•    Hands on brewing/distilling experience including wort/wash production, distillation of spirits, proofing of spirts, filtration, cellaring and packaging.
•    Development and maintenance of standard operating procedures.
•    Use of and maintenance of lab and analytical equipment
•    Demonstrated experience of trouble shooting within a brewery/distillery environment
•    Broad industry experience.

Knowledge

•    Forecasting and procurement
•    Broad understanding of brewing/distilling science.
•    Reading financial statements.
•    People Management.
•    Knowledge of regulatory issues.
•    Food and beverage (Beer, Spirits & RTDs).

Experience
•    Brewing/Distilling experience of at least 3 years.
•    Managing teams of people.
•    Recruitment and training of people.
•    Safety management and processes.
•    A broad and in-depth understanding of all aspects of brewery and distillery operations.
•    Regulatory and legal compliance knowledge and understanding of implications to the business.
•    Passion for beer, spirits and RTD’s is essential.
•    Brewing/Distilling qualifications viewed favourably.
