Address2 hours north of Brisbane, 45min from the Sunshine Cost, our Club boasts an 18-hole course enjoyed by a growing membership and guests to the region.
This is an exciting time as we explore possibilities for a reinvigoration of the course, as part of a future planning for the Club complex.
We’re looking to appoint a new leader for our Greenkeeping team, which includes a talented 2IC, a committed apprentice and an army of enthusiastic and committed, well-skilled volunteers.
The role:
Be part of a team and work closely with the Pro Shop Manager and the Gympie Golf Club committee and volunteers, with the support of the Sports Club Management & Board to achieve overall course goals.
This is a very hands-on role, overseeing the maintenance and care of all golf course turf, ensuring optimal playing conditions.
Manage a team of groundskeepers and volunteers, providing guidance on daily tasks, schedules and performance.
Implement and execute a comprehensive maintenance of all groundskeeping equipment, coordinating repairs and replacements as needed.
Plan and execute course improvement projects, such as tee box renovations and landscaping upgrades.
Implement sustainable and environmentally friendly practices in course maintenance, aligning with industry standards and regulations.
Expectations:
– Certificate 111 in Turf management or equivalent qualifications
– Proven experience in Golf course maintenance, with a minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role
– Extensive knowledge of turf management, irrigation systems and pest control
– Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
– Budgeting and financial management experience
– Familiarity with environmental best practices in golf course maintenance
– To actively contribute to the success of the team by leading from the front
