Job description

Vestas have created a new role for an experienced and passionate Head of Construction Quality ANZ to join an equally passionate team in Melbourne. This is a fantastic opportunity to join the renewables industry or continue your already established career.

The Vestas Quality organisation recently restructured with Vestas One quality organisation, formed to provide support to project construction and ensure standardised best practice is applied during construction.

This position works within the Regional Construction Quality APAC, ANZ team - Key tasks involved in the position will be to ensure the quality management of Construction projects are compliant with legal requirements, Vestas management system requirements and PQP & PQCP.

Among the many essential deliveries required by our quality team you will also focus your attention on ensuring all quality objectives and targets of Construction projects are achieved, root cause investigations, improvement of prioritised NCRs and systematic issues are anchored well in co-ordination with Value Chain Functions quality. You and the team will be directly involved in planning, controlling, improving, and monitoring the quality of inputs, processes, outputs, and outcomes across the value chain.

As the successful candidate you will have extensive experience leading teams by example and an enthusiasm for stakeholder relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Management reviews to assess effectiveness of Quality Management System
  • Customer Quality Engagement
  • Performance evaluation as per selected Quality Construction KPI's
  • Requirement & Risk Management Readiness and Lifecycle Product
  • Quality awareness and culture
  • Deploy quality improvement / development plans
  • Standardize Construction Quality practices and cross functional cooperation
  • Development of strategies and governance framework
  • Liaise with Regional Head of CON (main stakeholder) and CON Team Leaders to support CON strategy and needs , ensuring compliance to Quality Requirements ( policy, processes, standards, technical specs, Customer needs and expectations)
  • Follow Vestas Quality One team strategic Roadmap designing tactical action plans to ensure that performances are on track and to trigger mitigation plans in case of variance from targets
  • Own and lead KPI and tactical plans Project charters , in terms of cost avoidances, cost reduction, cost recoveries and continuous improvement
  • Liaise with PQMs, Site Supervisors, providing guidance and support
  • Support NC Coordinators facilitating cooperation process with Value Chain stakeholders, driving RCAs, CAPA , closing NCs in a timely manner
  • Provide feedback to Vestas Quality as required for developing effective operating model, processes and procedures.
  • Promote Quality behaviors, Quality awareness, quality walks
  • Develop Training competences matrix for CON Quality Team ( all levels)

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Engineering Degree
  • Leadership Courses

Competencies

  • Leadership and people management skills. Strong cooperation and communication skills; managerial courage
  • Demonstrated Lean Skills. Lean / Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (Black Belt desired) - practitioner
  • Certified Lead Auditor for ISO 9001 standard - practitioner
  • SAP experience
  • Collaboration - Demonstrate Integrity and Respectful behavior. Team Focus with skills for communication and peer development
  • Accountability - Accepts responsibility for own actions and decisions and demonstrates commitment to accomplish work in an ethical, efficient, and cost-effective manner
