How will I help?
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic professional to join our team as the Head ofCredit Assurance and Model Risk. In this leadership role you'll lead the Credit Assurance Capability across the Group, setting policies and frameworks for managing model-related risks, and providing Group-wide oversight and Model validation.
Key responsibilities

• Provide senior management with an independent and objective evaluation of the effectiveness of the Group's governance, risk management and internal controls for credit risk management.
• Deliver the annual Credit Assurance plan and report to Divisional and Group Risk Committees and Credit Risk Committee
• Deliver weekly hindsighting reviews of Credit decisions made by Line 1 Bankers and Line 2
• Maintain and enhance the Model Risk Management Framework and oversee compliance with the Group Model Risk Policies
• Provide regular Board, Executive and Senior Management reporting and insights on the Model Risk profile and risk appetite.
• Provide independent oversight and challenge to project steering committees delivering material model change agenda.
• Promote a continuous improvement mindset in the team, including identifying and pursuing the business case for technological advances to improve quality and efficiency.
• Lead the Credit Assurance and Model Risk team including embedding risk culture, and overseeing employee selection, remuneration, performance management, resourcing, development, and succession planning.
• Own the risk initiatives & projects for Credit Assurance and Model Risk team to improve processes and systems.

What do I need?
You'll have a demonstrated wealth of experience in risk management within the banking industry, proving your proficiency in credit risk and/or modelling and analysis. A crucial aspect of the role involves showcasing a profound understanding of the regulatory environment and the ability to meet regulator expectations.
You have a solid Leadership background with effective people management skills. You'll bring a depth of knowledge to navigate the complexities of the Banking and Financial Services sector. This includes a strong demonstration of commercial acumen and experience in effectively managing senior business stakeholders.
You possess a set of highly developed analytical skills, essential for effective decision-making and problem-solving in a dynamic environment. You have superior presentation and communication skills with the ability to think and act strategically as well as a demonstrated passion for success.
