The Category Buying team work together with the Planning team to drive sales, maximise profit, manage intake and ensure that of the moment and forward-thinking ranges engage THE ICONIC customer.As the Head of E-Commerce Trade, you will lead the trade marketing function, playing a pivotal role in shaping our brand's market presence. This senior role requires extensive experience in both trade marketing and sales. You will define and execute trade marketing strategies and plans to achieve sales targets and market share growth, leveraging insights and data-driven analyses to drive sustainable and profitable growth for the business.The role has two direct reports and works directly with the Planning Director, Planning Managers, Category Management, Marketing, Product and Tech teams on a daily basis.We are looking for a Head of E- Commerce Trade to join our commercial team.What's involved…

  • End to end ownership of the weekly Executive Trade review process, managing multiple data sources to track and analyse performance and coordinating input from cross functional teams to highlight key business drivers across customer cohorts, category, onsite user behaviour, marketing channels, platform and device.
  • Accountable for weekly trade performance of the business, driving topline sales but also ensuring that profit targets are met.
  • Manage the planning and execution of the trade calendar, including leading onsite merchandising to ensure placement and positioning of assets are optimized in line with business objectives
  • Utilise tools and methodologies like A/B testing, user experience analysis, and customer journey mapping to enhance web and App commercial performance and drive customer loyalty.
  • Own the Go To Market process:
  • Set the promotional and pricing (mark down) strategy for the business, supported by thorough financial modelling and analysis
  • Ensure effective development and management of overall GTM timelines, campaign calendars, and operational delivery of GTM plans
  • Maintain and optimise the GTM framework and toolkit based on in market learnings, to ensure a consistent approach for each product/proposition/experience taken to market.
  • Act as a custodian of THE ICONIC brand: ensure the brand is represented appropriately onsite and that the brand's unique selling propositions, key campaigns and brand initiatives have appropriate visibility and are promoted effectively.
  • Conduct ongoing competitor and market analysis
  • Review and react to daily/weekly business performance based on demand, sales, margin & digital metrics for THE ICONIC at group, brand and category level and make action recommendations to the Executive team.
  • Analyse trade marketing performance metrics, using data-driven insights to recommend improvements, inclusive of market research and competitor analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats.
  • Drive innovation and embrace change: look for opportunities to drive growth, to improve onsite personalization and segmentation
  • Lead the cross functional trade task force team that build and execute trade strategies for all international, in market, owned and reactive promotional events.
  • Deep understanding of company financials, the levers that drive them and when and where to implement them.
  • Excellent understanding of financial analyses and proficient in building them.
  • Ability to take complex trade topics and translating them for audiences to easily digest is part of your day to day.
  • Frequent collaboration with Category Management, Marketing, Product, Tech, Finance and Operations to maximize commercial opportunities.
About You:
  • Proven ability to drive significant eCommerce conversions (must have strong CRO or trading / merchandising background)
  • Experience leading an eCommerce function and
  • Strong retail, commercial or e-commerce experience, ideally having worked closely with major fashion retailers in Australia and/or abroad in the last 5-10 years.
  • Strong strategic thinking and ability to translate business objectives into brand strategies.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team.
  • Deep understanding of the Fashion eComm landscape, market trends, and consumer behavior.
  • Ability to generate innovative ideas and approaches to Trade challenges.
  • Ability to analyse complex data sets and derive actionable insights.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong focus on metrics and performance measurement.
  • Must be highly organised and efficient at managing and prioritising multiple tasks
  • Decisive and confident in making decisions, ensuring timely and effective outcomes even in challenging situations
  • Degree or MBA qualifications in relevant tertiary discipline
  • Experience in building commercial strategies and plans
  • Advanced financial and analytical abilities.
  • Proven ability to lead, support and coach high-performing cross functional teams
