About the Role

The Head of Engineering will be instrumental in bolstering a company's standing within Australia's renewable energy market. This pivotal role encompasses leadership, strategic development, and technical proficiency to ensure project success, asset operation, and ongoing innovation. Candidates should demonstrate recent expertise in large-scale BESS and hybrid BESS, including solar development, construction, and operations. Collaboration within the engineering team, focusing on grid connections and solar PV, ensures projects meet the highest standards of quality and efficiency.
  
Responsibilities

• Leadership: Foster alignment between business plans and our company strategy, develop team capability, and encourage professional growth through mentoring and succession planning.
• Process Improvement: Enhance engineering systems and processes for quality and efficiency.
• Expertise: Leverage broad engineering knowledge while demonstrating excellence in one core discipline.
• Project Lifecycle: Oversee project feasibility, energy yield analysis, design, asset delivery, and operations strategy.
• Construction Support: Provide engineering guidance during project execution.
• Operations Optimization: Support project operations and maintenance for efficiency and effectiveness.

Skills and Experience

• Bachelor's or master’s degree in engineering, Renewable Energy, or related field.
• Multi years experience within the renewable energy sector, with a focus on energy storage projects and utility-scale solar.
• Strong technical background in energy storage systems, solar PV, and related technologies.
• In-depth understanding of and recent experience in project development, engineering design, construction, and operational aspects of large-scale BESS and other renewable energy projects.
• Knowledge and experience in energy modeling simulation and studies is highly preferred.
