AddressKimberley Mineral Sands Pty Ltd (KMS) is a 50/50 joint venture between Sheffield Resources Limited and YGH Australia Investment Pty Ltd (Yansteel). The Thunderbird Mineral Sands Project (Thunderbird) is located mid-way between Derby and Broome, in the Kimberley region of Western Australia.
Thunderbird is one of the largest and highest-grade zircon mineral sands deposits in the world and contains valuable heavy minerals including ilmenite, zircon, leucoxene, and rutile, which are extracted and exported via the Port of Broome.

About the Role
As the Head of Finance, you will play a pivotal role in steering KMS’s financial and commercial strategies working in a small executive team and maintaining a close working relationship with the Board. This position is crucial for aligning our financial management with our strategic goals, ensuring the financial health and operational efficiency of KMS.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and manage the finance and commercial team.
• Develop and implement robust financial and commercial strategies to align with KMS’s long-term objectives.
• Manage and oversee the finance and commercial departments, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and enhancing financial reporting systems.
• Provide regular updates and strategic recommendations directly to the COO and the Board.
• Oversee negotiating for commercial contracts, ensuring they support our growth and sustainability objectives.
• Manage relationships with external networks and lenders, focusing on financial arrangements that support the company's strategic financial goals.
• Drive financial planning from budget preparation to forecasting, promoting financial efficiency and cost management across the company.
Your Profile:
• Bachelor’s degree in finance and/or Accounting, with a CA or CPA qualification (CA preferred). An MBA is highly regarded.
• Demonstrable experience in a Big 4 audit environment to Manager level or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of senior finance experience in the resources sector, Extensive knowledge of project financing, debt structuring, and lender engagement.
• Proven expertise in budgeting, financial analysis, and financial modelling.
• Strong background in audit, corporate governance, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Strong people leadership and management experience of a finance and commercial team.
• 4 day work week, full-time role worked over Monday-Thursday
