Job description

Looking for a rewarding job opportunity with one of Australia’s leading not-for-profit organisations?

This is a career-defining opportunity with exceptional internal promotion opportunities for a proven and experienced major donor fundraising professional with a passion for strategy and operational excellence to join one of Australia's leading not-for-profit organisations in a leadership role within a supportive culture and high-performing team.

The Opportunity

You will oversee the development, approval, and implementation of a major donor strategy, working directly with the Board Marketing and fundraising Committee and CEO to establish a successful operational framework. With the new framework in place, you will be responsible for the ongoing development of the major donor program, including, when appropriate, the hiring and managing of a major donor team and revenue generation to support service delivery and research fundraising efforts.

About You

You are a well-seasoned fundraiser with operational know-how and career advancement aspirations. Utilising your significant major donor experience and operational expertise, you are excited to develop a new organisational strategy and establish effective ongoing adaptation as the major donor program evolves. Reporting to the Executive Manager of Strategic Marketing and Fundraising, you will orchestrate internal and external stakeholders to lead the development of the organisation’s evolving approach to fundraising. Candidates based in either Sydney or Melbourne will be considered, and some travel will be required.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Spearhead data analytics and prospect research efforts to generate a prioritised prospect list;
  • Initiate contact with prospects to identify potential opportunities and prioritise actionable steps;
  • Establish a proficient 'moves management' system within the Salesforce CRM platform to oversee priority leads;
  • Coordinate and execute donor development contacts, events, and communications;
  • Directly engage with donor prospects to advance relationships towards solicitation;
  • Organise appropriate senior-level resources (Executive Manager, CEO, Board Members, subject matter experts, and the research team) to effectively engage with prospects as part of the moves management strategy;
  • When appropriate, solicit donations directly from donors or support other stakeholders in their solicitation efforts;
  • Lead the development of a comprehensive donor recognition plan.

If you have significant management experience in for-purpose and healthcare and a passion for major gift fundraising, we are excited to receive your application through the link provided.
