Join UGL as the Head of HSEQ for our $1.7bn Projects Division, where you’ll be an active member of the Projects Division Senior Leadership Team (SLT), balancing strategic and operational responsibilities. Strategically, you'll influence and drive alignment to the broader business HSEQ Strategy into the Division. Operationally, you'll support day-to-day business execution, working closely with the Projects SLT and operational HSEQ Leads in each business unit, focusing on guidance, problem-solving, and project execution throughout the project lifecycle.
About the role
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure workplace health and safety, environment and quality outcomes are achieved across a team of 100+ HSEQ Professionals.
- Drive HSEQ risk management discipline across the project lifecycle from bid to completion.
- Coach and mentor organisational leaders to achieve best practice HSEQ outcomes.
- Monitor industry practices, innovations and legislation, and advise on necessary changes.
- Provide a point of governance and assurance for the division, taking an active role in audit, investigation, and proactive learning opportunities.
Major Challenges
- Strategic: Drive the business HSEQ plan, ensure project team buy-in, and focus on important, long-term improvements.
- Operational: Support daily operations, lead senior HSEQ teams, ensure proper HSEQ support for tenders, and oversee project execution and audits.
- Prioritisation: Manage a wide range of tasks and competing priorities effectively.
- Project Scale: Oversee numerous largescale and diverse projects, ensuring proper time allocation and focus.
- Influence: Persuade and guide leaders to drive positive change and improve safety and compliance.
About you
- Extensive relevant HSEQ management experience in a similar industry.
- Excellent understanding of operational, quality, and improvement practices.
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, proactive and solution-oriented.
- Customer-focused, team-oriented, and results-driven.
- Energetic with a positive attitude.
