About the position: We are seeking an experienced Head of Merchandise & Planning to strategically lead and manage all aspects of Scanlan Theodore’s merchandise planning and stock management for the AU & USA markets. Collaborating with the Founder and Creative Director, the role is responsible for optimising buying strategies, product assortment and inventory levels to drive sales, profitability and enhance client experience. This role is a twelve month fixed-term contract commencing late July 2024. Key responsibilities include: Manage and lead direct reports within the Merchandise & Planning team to implement planning strategy Ensure the efficient execution of planning and allocation tasks by overseeing the activities of team members Responsible for the department budget, ensuring spending is optimised to drive business profitability Responsible for Channel & Product Lifestyle Strategy, inclusive of global product workflow Establish and monitor top line OTB for AU & USA markets, providing recommendations for option and drop decisions Conduct seasonal category analysis to inform strategic planning Contribute to the pre, post and in-season planning schedule ensuring alignment with business objectives Accountable for Key Volume Lines Collaborate with Head of Digital & Ecommerce and Head of Retail to determine channel budgets, monitor and re-forecast Responsible for delivery meeting and calendar, ensuring communication is filtered to relevant team members Confirm individual product status based on delivery timing, collaborating with the Digital & Ecommerce and Branding teams to determine best strategy Foster cross functional collaboration with departments including retail, operations and visual merchandising, ensuring that merchandise requirements are being met effectively and efficiently What are we seeking? Qualification in fashion merchandise management, business or related discipline Minimum 5+ years experience across Merchandise Planning positions Previous experience in womenswear apparel or luxury retailers is preferred Ability to support and implement business strategy focusing on sales targets Advanced level Excel understanding and abilities Effective organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure Proven flexibility, adaptability and able to respond and adjust to change in work demands Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to build strong interpersonal relationships Previous experience using retail solutions software, Apparel 21 experience is advantageous National Police Check and right to work in Australia Prior to commencing employment in this position, you will need to provide two references, full working rights and complete a police check.
