About the role

NESA is the Test Administration Authority for the administration of the National Assessment Program Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) in NSW. The Head of NAPLAN will be responsible for all aspects of the NAPLAN program and will work with national, interstate and NSW educational stakeholder groups on strategy development and operational implementation of NAPLAN in NSW.

This is not a teaching role. People with experience in industries outside of education are welcome to apply.

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for: 

  • Leading the delivery of the NAPLAN program to support schools in NSW to administer NAPLAN.
  • Providing expert advice and briefings to senior management and stakeholders on emerging NAPLAN issues and presenting recommendations to support established plans, timeframes, policy objectives and other project priorities.
  • Leading diverse teams and managing resources to ensure strategic objectives of the NAPLAN program are achieved on time.
  • Leading and working with team/s, including internal and external project staff, to deliver consolidated and agreed positions relating to national policy for NAPLAN.
  • Representing NSW at national education stakeholder meetings.

With exceptional critical thinking, creative problem solving, attention to detail and communication skills, the successful candidate for this role will be a confident leader with the ability to lead a diverse team to reach successful objectives and outcomes.
