About the Opportunity

Reporting to ASC’s Program Management Director SSN AUKUS and in conjunction with joint partners, the Head of Program Management Office (PMO)/Program Integration will play a key leadership role responsible for establishing and delivering project controls, scheduling disciplines, performance metrics, and overall reporting for the SSN AUKUS program.

This position is critical in implementing best practices in Earned Value Management (EVM) and scheduling to ensure successful planning and execution across the program.

Within this role, the incumbent will be required to maintain a strategic perspective on the entire business, addressing a wide range of long-term issues, opportunities, and risks to ensure ongoing success.


Responsibilities

  • Establish and deliver robust project controls, scheduling disciplines, and performance metrics
  • Implement best practice EVM and scheduling capabilities to enable successful program planning and execution
  • Maintain a strategic perspective on the entire business, addressing long-term issues, opportunities, and risks
  • Provide leadership to team members, offering direction and setting attainable yet challenging performance targets
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure strategic alignment and program success
  • Support engagement with the Joint Partners, which may require flexible working hours and periodic or regular overseas travel


Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in engineering, business, management, or similar (Master's preferred)
  • Professional certifications (AIPM)
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in project management services, preferably in the defence or shipbuilding sector
  • Proficiency in business case development, cost estimating, hurdle rate analysis, and NPV modelling
  • Proficiency in cost control, cost management, and contractor management
  • Strong understanding of the shipbuilding or defence sector, with at least 2 years of relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and implement high-quality solutions to complex problems


Eligibility

This role requires a current National Police Clearance, an Australian Defence Security Clearance and an ability to access protected US defence technology. Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearances and approvals.

Whilst ASC will accept all applications for this role, as this role requires an ability to access protected US defence technology, applicants holding nationality of certain foreign countries will not be eligible.
