Sharp & Carter are delighted to support Brisbane 2032 to appoint their Head of Program Management.About Brisbane 2032The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games (the “Games”) will be the largest event in South-East Queensland’s history, with the potential to deliver transformational change to our region. As the name suggests, the Brisbane Organising Committee for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games (“Brisbane 2032”) is responsible for organising the Games. Some of Brisbane 2032’s operational responsibilities include: raising revenue through sponsorship, ticketing and the sale of Brisbane 2032 merchandise, sourcing the goods and services required to deliver the Games, managing the temporary overlay and operation of the venues and recruiting thousands of volunteers as well as many other elements that are essential in staging a world class global sporting event.With the countdown towards the Games firmly underway, you have the opportunity to be part of the foundational Brisbane 2032 team in supporting the delivery of this transformational once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for all Queenslanders.About the PositionThe Head of Program Management will be responsible for the delivery of the Brisbane 2032Program Management function. The role will oversee the design and implementation of a best-practice Program Management function which ensures Brisbane 2032 can actively monitor and report its planning, progress, and delivery of strategic and operational priorities to key stakeholders including the International Olympic Committee (IOC), International Paralympic Committee (IPC), Queensland Government, Games Delivery Partners, Brisbane 2032 Board, and management.The position will develop Program Management systems and processes which are agile, efficient, scalable with the needs of the business and, where applicable, integrate with Games Delivery Partners, to optimise Games planning and coordination activities.The role will also be responsible for supporting the Executive team with development, monitoring and implementation of key strategic resources including the Brisbane 2032 Corporate Strategy, Games Plan, Master Schedule, and Games Delivery Roadmap.In this early phase, the position with work with the Executive and Functional Areas to design Program Management activities that meet the needs of the business. The role will expand to lead a small Program Management team as Games planning and delivery becomes more complex and monitoring and reporting requirements increase in the years leading into 2032.About YouTo be successful in this role you will bring the following:

  • Experience working across an organisation to develop and implement fit-for-purpose Program Management solutions that evolve with the needs of the business.
  • A proven track record of working collaboratively with a wide variety of external and internal stakeholders to coordinate delivery of complex projects; with the ability to work with, and build positive relationships with complex stakeholder groups with competing interests and priorities.
  • Experience delivering to deadlines in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • Experience developing and delivering reports to a CEO and Board.
  • A strong team player who can work both autonomously and in collaboration with other subject matter experts, taking a business partnering approach to support functional areas.
  • A willingness to be very hands-on, particularly during the early years, and undertake all aspects of Program Management activity from day-to-day operations through to high-level strategic planning.
  • Experience in a leadership role in a similarly complex Program Management environment will be highly regarded.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and collaborate to achieve outcomes.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Program and Portfolio Management, Commerce, Business Administration or similar.
