About the role
The Head of Program (HoP) Nursing is an integral position responsible for the coordination of nursing programs at the Albany, Bunbury and Narrogin campuses. The HoP Nursing provides leadership and mentoring to the nursing team to ensure that all academic quality standards are met to provide a contemporary, engaging and exciting nurse training experience.
The HoP Nursing also fulfills the Head of discipline role under the ANMAC Enrolled Nurse and Registered Nurse Accreditation standards and is the lead nursing academic responsible for the design and delivery of nursing programs at South Regional TAFE. The HoP will also work with other relevant industry bodies and other TAFE Colleges to ensure consistency and build innovation.
This position reports to the Associate Director Strategic Projects and works closely with Training Managers and Regional Campus Managers and their teams to collaborate in relation to the delivery of nursing programs. The HoP Nursing may also maintain teaching duties as required.
Complete lecturing duties as required (as defined and in accordance with 'Appendix A
Role Description and Duty Statement for Lecturers' in the WA TAFE Lecturers General Agreement 2021, or as replaced).
Relevant Qualification and Experience
The successful applicant should hold the following minimum qualifications:
- A post graduate tertiary qualification relevant to their discipline (minimum Bachelor of Science – Nursing)
- A higher teaching qualification (contained in the list of STERC Approved Qualifications for Progression for appointment to ASL/PL classifications)
- Either a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment TAE40122, TAE40116, or TAE40110 or the additional skill sets referred to in Schedule 1, Item 2 of the Standards for Registered Training Organisations (RTOs) 2015.
In addition, applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA) as a Registered Nurse with no conditions relating to conduct or performance and must also have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience.
The incumbent will be required to regularly travel to other SR TAFE campuses.
