AT HSBC Australia we have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Protective Security for ANZ to join us reporting directly into our Head of Corporate Services. The role will work as an integral part of Non-Financial Risk Management Framework, working with the wider global and regional Protective Security team, Head of Corporate Servcies and where required the local COO. The successful applicant will also ensure controls are managed to agreed standards, represents Protective Security to senior and executive management in the country, and engage with relevant regulators and law enforcement agencies as required.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the local ANZ Protective Security Operations Team
  • Supervise development and ensure the quality of security operating procedures and post orders for security teams consistent with required global standards and local regulatory requirements
  • Actively identify and manage security threats, risks and vulnerabilities within risk appetite of HSBC
  • Act as a Local Control Owner and undertake continuous control monitoring across relevant security contorls including (not not limit to) identifying, escalating / remediating issues and incidents proactively
  • Deliver process maps, procedures, training, awareness and other change management activities
  • Develop and deliver specailist Protective Security advice to Group businesses, functions and projects

Requirements

Requirements:

  • Extensive security operational experience including vendor management
  • Preferably holder of an internationally recognised security industry qualification (e.g. ASIS - CPP, APP,PSP. ISMI - CSMP/CSM)
  • Strong security knowledge including security threat, risk, vulnerability and controls, and the ability to apply it to the delivery of security advice and planning, while balancing the needs of the business
  • Experience in leading and influencing teams and stakeholders to achieve objectives
  • Demonstrated knowledge in areas such as physical security, security technology, emergency management, risk management and project management
  • Sound judgement and ability to provide advice and make decisons under pressure and consitent with established policy, procedures and the local risk context
  • Ideally law enforcement relationships and membership to relevant industry groups

Preference will be given to candidates who hold Australian PR/Citizenship or New Zealand Citizenship, or who can demonstrate current unrestricted work rights in Australia without limitations.
