We are seeking an experienced Head of Special Education Services for our Primary campus for a full-time temporary position commencing 20 May 2024 to 5 August 2024, unless otherwise determined.

About the Role:
As a Head of Special Education at Varsity College, you will be an integral part of our Primary teaching team, leading the delivery of a vibrant curriculum to our students and possessing a strong knowledge of content and pedagogy in this area. You will specialise in the ability to differentiate the curriculum to the diverse learning needs of our student cohort, particularly in the area of inclusive education and students with additional support needs.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
- Work with, and build teachers' capability in using data to provide effective differentiated instruction to a diverse student cohort
- Implement research based pedagogical practices to increase student engagement
- Lead the development and implementation of high quality of teaching and adjustments for students with disability in accordance with related legislation and policies
- Provide high quality advice to the school leadership team, classroom teachers and other school staff to develop, plan and implement effective reasonable adjustments for students with disability.
- Support the College's Collegial Engagement Policy and align staff capability to professional learning opportunities
- Be committed to creating a school wide culture of wellbeing, engagement and personal achievement that values diversity, responding to the needs and interests of students and staff.
