About the Role - HEAD THEATRE TECHNICIAN
We are seeking a motivated and innovative person for our newly created position as Head Theatre Technician. In this role you will be required to lead a small team of Theatre Technicians to ensure smooth and safe running of the operating theatre, set practice standards for Theatre Technicians, improve flow including equipment movement and improve the process for the planning of equipment maintenance and repairs. Successful candidates will be able to work independently, have high level communication skills and extensive operating theatre experience. Previous management experience is preferred. The role will include:
- Preparing operating theatres for procedures
- Working alongside and communicating with nursing management to create appropriate allocations and teams
- Liaising with external groups such as biomedical engineering and company representatives in relation to equipment repair and servicing
- Arranging and/or providing in-service education to technician staff on equipment use, maintenance and safety and
- Staff rostering and performance management.
