About the Project & Opportunity:
Acciona has been awarded the Design & Construct contract for the Singleton Bypass. This major project will see construction of 8km of single lane highway with 7 bridge structures and upgrades to local intersections. This diverse and challenging project has a 2.5year program ensuring longevity in your role and presenting opportunities to grow within the business.
This sub-function is responsible for all activities related with the safety and health of the company's workers. Its duties include:
Drive commitment to quality within the project teams
Promote safety values to clients and Authorities.
Ensure compliance and adherence to ACCIONA Management Systems
Co-ordinate Health and Safety activities on site including inspections and monitoring as required and directed
Assist with training of personnel to ensure they are aware of their responsibilities and to improve their capabilities
Assist with audits of suppliers and subcontractors in the field to improve and maintain a heightened level of safety
Assist Superintendent, Foremen and subcontractors in the field to improve and maintain a heightened level of safety
Conduct required safety performance KPI's for safety
Assist Project Managers and Field Supervisors with their WH&S responsibilities.
Required Skills and Competencies
Certificate IV in WH&S
Operational experience in the application of safety management principles in the construction/ industry
Experience in large scale construction projects
Working knowledge of HS&E requirements and implementation of same
Experience in investigating and reporting safety incidents.
Current advanced certificate in First Aid
Working knowledge of risk assessments and audit procedures
