We have an exciting new opportunity for a Health and Wellbeing Consultantto join genU!


As aHealth and Wellbeing Consultant – In Work Support, you will utilise your specialist skills, knowledge and experience to provide support to clients with a disability, injury, mental Health and/or health condition. The purpose of this position is to support clients who are in work and are registered under the Work Force Australia (WFA) and Disability Employment Services (DES) contract.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Empower clients to better manage their health condition whilst in work by providing intervention face-to-face and/or via phone and/or via Teams.
  • Manage a caseload of clients with Health and Wellbeing conditions in work by providing long-term health intervention, up to 26 weeks for WFA and 52 weeks for DES.
  • Conduct workplace visits with the aim to conduct workplace assessments and offer written recommendations/workplace modifications to clients and employers.
  • Provide timely and constructive feedback to clients, employment consultants and employers to improve employment sustainability.
  • Work towards building and maintaining work capacity for clients by assisting clients achieve their benchmark hours.
  • Engage with employers and clients to provide in work support to assist with saving job in jeopardy.

This is a Part-time opportunity 3 days a week (0.6 FTE) based in Armadale, WA. Salary ranges from 80-85k (pro rata) +11% Superannuation and salary packaging benefits up to $15,900 p.a.

About You

Our ideal Health and Wellbeing Consultant will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Experience of working in either welfare to work, occupational health, vocational rehabilitation, or condition management
  • Experience of using online databases and diaries
  • Knowledge and experience in administering psychometrics
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work constructively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Proficient in relevant computer software programs, particularly MS Office and Outlook
  • Managing internal and external stakeholders

You will also meet the below essential requirements:

  • Relevant bachelor’s degree
  • Full registration as a health professional with one of the following regulatory bodies:
    -Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
    -Occupational Therapist registered with AHPRA
    -A counsellor A counsellor registered with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) at Level 2 or above, or the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) at Provisional or Clinical level
    -Rehabilitation Counsellor registered with Australian Society of Rehabilitation Counsellors (ASORC)
    • Working with Children’s Check
    • Must have or be willing to obtain a NDIS Worker Screening Check
    • Must have completed or be willing to complete the NDIS Worker Orientation Module 'Quality, Safety and You' orientation module.
