About the Centre
Carlton Baths is an oasis in the centre of an inner city suburb. At Carlton Baths we pride ourselves on inclusivity, exceptional service and community engagement. We run a wide range group fitness classes each week, have a 25 metre outdoor seasonal pool that is open from October to April each year, we offer summer swimming lessons for all ages and abilities, and facilitate a range of children's sporting and developmental programs in a safe and engaging environment.
About the role
As a Health Club Instructor you will play an important role in the health & wellness journey of our members. You will complete gym floor shifts, assist clients where needed and complete health consultations to get members started with their exercise journey.
The role will also incorporate Personal Training, where you will manage your own client base and complete 1-on-1 sessions. There also will be additional opportunities provided to participate and take small group training classes on the gym floor.
This role will play an important part in re-engaging our members in a Post-COVID environment, with a big focus on retention of members and creating a positive environment for people to exercise in.
This role is being offered as either Casual or Part Time.
The Part Time hourly rate when performing the Health Club Instructor role is $25.41 - $27.02 + Super (+25% for casual).
The Part Time hourly rate when performing the Personal Trainer role is $33.71 - $45.73 + Super (+25% for casual).
About you
We are looking for Health & Fitness Instructors who possess a genuine desire to encourage and support members to achieve their health and fitness goals. You will be relied upon to motivate, educate and enhance each member’s experience. Through developing a rapport with members, the Health & Fitness Instructor fosters a commitment to their improved health and wellbeing.
Essential Qualifications
- Certificate III in Fitness or approved equivalent
- Certificate IV in Fitness or approved equivalent (completed or working towards completion)
- Current Fitness Australia Registration, or approved equivalent
- Apply First Aid Certificate
- CPR Certificate
- 20 Continuing Education Credits (CECs) every two years, in order to maintain your registration with Fitness Australia
- Emphasis on courses relative to the groups that you predominantly work with (e.g. pregnancy, older adults) will be highly regarded
- Specialist injury management knowledge (e.g. medical conditions, disabilities) will be highly regarded
