This is a fantastic opportunity for a highly motivated and energetic Health Club Manager looking to lead our health, fitness and wellbeing teams to help members achieve their goals.
The Role
A once in a lifetime opportunity for someone who is passionate about delivering the highest level of Health and Fitness programming to the Town of East Fremantle’s $32.5 million East Fremantle Community Park.
As the Health Club Manager, you will be a strong people leader who will be responsible for the recruitment, ongoing training and development of all health, fitness and wellbeing team members. You will oversee the day-to-day management of the Gym, Group Fitness, Coaching Zone, Reformer Pilates, Exercise Physiology and Personal Training programs, and will provide leadership and direction to ensure we meet the health, fitness and wellness needs of the community.
The Health Club Manager’s key accountabilities include:
- Create and deliver strong member engagement offerings that attract high attendance.
- Oversee and grow the program areas of Coaching Zone, Reformer Pilates, Exercise Physiology and Personal Training, ensuring all sessions are tailored to our members’ needs.
- Support the Coordinators and Head Coach with all ongoing recruitment.
- Work with the Group Fitness Coordinator to provide quality group fitness programming (including seasonal/quarterly updates as well as new innovative programs based on community needs).
- Ensure all fitness and wellness programs and services are managed and inline within legislative guidelines.
- Ensure all Gym, Reformer and Group Fitness equipment is always in safe working order.
- Achieve Direct Debit Membership budget in conjunction with Sales & Guest Experience Team.
- Manage and monitor all income and expenses in line with approved budgets.
- Maintain internal and external stakeholder partnerships.
About You
You will be a leader open to new ideas and discovering creative opportunities to get the community moving. You have experience in leading a team to achieve collective and individual targets and are truly passionate about helping others achieve their goals. You have strong communication skills that build rapport and positive relationships with people and teams.
Ideally you will have at least 2 years’ experience in leading teams within the Health and Fitness Industry and proven experience as a personal trainer or exercise physiologist. Qualifications and experience in Reformer Pilates will be viewed highly.

Essential
- Certificate IV in Fitness
- Current First Aid Certificate (Level 2)
- Current CPR Certificate
- Current Working with Children Check (or Equivalent)
- National Police Check
Desirable
- Reformer Pilate qualification (highly desirable)
- Exercise Science qualification (desirable)
Preferred Skills, Experience and Personal Attributes

- Previous experience (min. 2 years) leading the Health Club or Sales teams within Leisure or Commercial Fitness
- Financial acumen

- Have lead high quality training and development sessions

- Experience in delivery of premium programs – Reformer Pilates and Small Group Personal Training

- Experience managing strategies to improve Personal Trainer success rates, retention and tenure
