With four major health care centres and a range of satellite centres, KWHB services an area over two times the size of Tasmania (162,000km²), helping to improve the health and wellbeing of some of the most remote communities in Australia.

About the Opportunity
Katherine West Health Board (KWHB) is currently looking for a Health Coaching Trainer and Assessorto join their team for an opportunity in the Katherine West region in the NT. This position is well suited to someone who has a minimum Certificate IV in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Primary Health Care Practice or a bachelor’s degree in nursing and eligible for registration with the relevant Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency and possess a current unrestricted practicing certificate. The position facilitates clinical placements for AHP’s, TAHP’s and Health Coaches (including trainees) and will provide on-the-job clinical development support.
Your responsibilities will include (but are not limited to):
- Identify, plan and facilitate the clinical and professional educational learning and development needs of AHP’s, TAHP’s and Health Coaches (including trainees) in remote locations. This includes facilitating clinical in-services and the provision of support on site.
- Clinically and professionally support all students, new and existing clinicians where appropriate. Provide mentoring as required on an individual basis for AHP’s, TAHP’s and Health Coaches (including trainees).
- Mentor and role model consistent clinical best practice and a positive learning culture in our remote health centres.
- Maintain and update clinical resources on the KWHB intranet, relevant to your clinical role within the organisation..
- Help foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary practices and team-oriented processes.
