Our growing practice needs a dietitian for in-house private referrals, GP care plans, and our in-house support groups.
Position overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Registered Dietitian to join our team. You will play a pivotal role in promoting health and wellbeing through evidence-based nutrition interventions. You will work closely with GPs and patients. You will assess their nutritional needs, develop tailored meal plans, and provide ongoing support to achieve long-term behaviour change.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive nutrition assessments for patients with diverse medical conditions and dietary needs.
- Develop personalised nutrition plans based on individual health goals, dietary preferences, and medical history.
- Provide ongoing nutrition counselling and education to empower patients to make informed food choices and adopt healthy eating habits.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals: GPs, nurses, and allied health therapists, to coordinate patient care and optimise treatment outcomes.
- Stay abreast of the latest research and developments in the field of nutrition and dietetics.
- Take part in multidisciplinary team meetings.
- Lead patient group education meetings.
- Social Media activities and administration duties.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions and progress in electronic health records.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in nutrition/dietetics.
- Current registration as a Dietitian with Dietitians Australia.
- Accredited Practising Dietitian (provisional APD status acceptable)
- Minimum of 2 years of experience working as a dietitian in a clinical or community setting.
- Experience in weight management, diabetes, eating disorders, IBS, chronic disease management.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and effectively communicate complex nutrition concepts to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to professional development and maintaining continuing education requirements.
- Unrestricted Australian working rights.
