The HPE trainee assists in the day-to-day operations of the Health and Physical Education Faculty.
The Trainee will be supported in order to develop skills in the following areas:
- Assist in the planning and preparation of courses and lessons.
- Maintain good order, discipline and respect for others among students.
- Promote and model understanding of the school's values and purpose.
- Safeguard health and safety of self and others.
- Develop relationships with and between students conducive to optimum learning.
- Provide support for individual students to enable them to fully participate in activities.
- Work with other professionals, such as classroom & well-being teachers, HPE faculty members and sports coaches, as necessary.
Special Conditions
The successful applicant is required to gain a Department for Human Services (DHS) working with children check (WWCC) prior to being employed which is required to be renewed every five years before expiry. The incumbent will be required to undertake RRHAN –EC (Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect - Education Care) training course which will be required to be updated every three years.

Remuneration
$15,337 - $39,674 per annum
Note: The salary level will be dependent on the year of schooling completed as well as number of years out of school.

Additional Note
This is a 12-month full-time traineeship, and the trainee will undertake a Certificate III in Sport Aquatics & Recreation.
