About Pedare:
Pedare is a coeducational Anglican and Uniting Church school comprising of Junior (R-5), Middle (Years 6-9) and Senior (Years 10-12) based in Golden Grove. We are committed to developing young people to make a difference in our global community and passionate about providing our students with the best education and learning curriculum. Here at Pedare we have been operating since 1986 and we have over 1,100 students.
The Middle and Senior School at Pedare caters for over 800 students in Years 6 to 12 and uses the IB MYP framework, Australian Curriculum and SACE for curriculum delivery. We take pride in knowing and understanding each of our students, their learning and their interests. As strengths are recognised we strive to support and enhance them whilst maintaining balance and providing a range of opportunities in a variety of disciplines. We recognize that not all students have the same needs, therefore, we have established a dedicated diverse learning program where it provides direct and timely assistance to students who require additional learnings requirements under the teacher remit.
The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and dynamic Health and Physical Education Teacher to commence in May 2024. As the Health and PE Teacher, you will be instrumental in teaching our Middle Years students in understanding different sports requirements, physical fitness whilst promoting healthy lifestyles and wellbeing.
Reporting to the Head of Middle School, this position will be a 1.0 FTE on a 14-month contract.
The role:
- Th ability to deliver a high-quality learning experience
- Capability of delivering Physical Education across the Middle School year levels
- Ability to teach other subjects
- Promote a trusting and caring approach within the classroom
- Maintain current knowledge of pedagogy and subject disciplines
- Ability to relate well to students, recognising both the pastoral and educative aspects of the student-teacher relationship
- Maintain an interest in the welfare of students and promote the wellbeing of students
- Some out of hours may be required due to role requirements
- Willingness to participate in extra curriculum is encouraged
What we need:
- A current South Australian Working with Child Check (WWCC)
- Responding to Risk of Harm, Abuse and neglect (RRHAN)
- Current Teacher Registration Certificate in South Australia
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Academic Transcripts and Degrees, Diplomas, Certificates
All certificates and qualification must be provided to the College prior to commencement of employment; and the College requests the applicant to disclose any information relevant to their eligibility to engage in activities involving children and young people.
