Based in Gippsland, Latrobe Regional Health are looking for a Health Protection Leadto join our Gippsland Region Public Health Unit on a part-time/full-time basis for 24 months.
The GRPHU is led and coordinated by Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) is one of nine local public health units across Victoria working closely with the Department of Health in a state-wide system of public health delivery and response. GRPHU works throughout the Gippsland region across the public health pillars of prevention, protection and promotion.
TheHealth Protection Leadis responsible for tasks such as:
Daily coordination of the notifications and/or outbreaks of notifiable condition and the associated public health functions
Ensurethe delivery of high quality, responsive and evidence-based end to end services that meet professional, organisational, legal and ethical standards
Direct, coordinate and support the Public Health Officers working within the Health Protection Team

We are looking for candidates with:
A tertiary degree in health science, environmental health, nursing, medicine, or related public health field
For Nursing/ Allied Health applicants only: Current Registration with AHPRA as a registered health professional, with no practicing restrictions. For non-AHPRA registered professions, eligible membership of the relevant professional association
Minimum 5 years’ experience within the candidates trained profession.
Demonstrated leadership skills to implement change in a complex environment and articulate a vision to engage and unify staff
Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team
