We are looking for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor (Senior level) to join our project team to work on our construction projects. This is a site-based position, initially a Monday to Friday roster on our Ison Road Project in Werribee.

Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring Project compliance with health and safety requirements and providing guidance and support to workers in implementing Project Health & Safety Management Plans, business management system and client requirements
- Demonstrate a personal, visible commitment to Decmil's Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) requirements and performance
- Understand and discharge HSE accountabilities, including legislative obligations and Decmil's HSE management system requirements
- Coach and mentor operational and project teams to ensure understanding of their HSE accountabilities
- Monitor HSE performance and provide timely reports
- Engage and manage subcontractors to ensure understanding and compliance with Project and business requirements
- Lead and facilitate the WHS consultation, cooperation and coordination arrangements on the Project, including Pre Start, Toolbox, etc.
- Identify minimum training, competency, qualification and licensing requirements for workers on the Project and ensure requirements are met and recorded before work commences.
What We Are Looking For
- Minimum Graduate Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) or a related field
- At least 5 years of relevant industry experience
- Working knowledge of HSEQ practices and relevant HSE legislation
- High-level generalist HSE skills, including incident investigation
- Excellent computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets and experience with online (automated) HSEQ management systems
- Great verbal and written communication skills with a proven ability to negotiate and influence others
- Proven ability and demonstrated experience in behavioural-based HSE management programs and applications
- Demonstrated experience in effective leadership and employee supervision
- Willingness to work on a roster rotation.
