Joseph Banks Secondary College (SC) is seeking to appoint a Health, Safety and Wellbeing Officer to join their team.
The role of the Health, Safety and Wellbeing Officer is to provide school staff support on Work Health and Safety (WHS) issues. You will undertake investigations of workplace incidents and accidents. The successful applicant will be required to contribute to the welfare of students, staff and volunteers by providing first aid as needed and within their level of training and experience. Part of the role is to ensure records are completed and maintained for all injuries, illnesses, incidents and accidents.
Joseph Banks SC is an Independent Public School in the suburb of Banksia Grove, approximately 40 kilometres from the Perth Central Business District. We serve students from surrounding suburbs including Carramar and Tapping. This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Applicants assessed as suitable during this selection process may be considered for other similar vacancies that occur throughout our school for up to 12 months following this initial appointment. This includes circumstances where this position becomes subsequently vacant should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised position.
To be suitable for this role, you will need to demonstrate the following work related requirements (selection criteria):
- Well developed project management skills with the ability to develop, implement and evaluate health and Wellbeing programs.
- Knowledge and understanding of OSH legislation, policy and practices.
- Relevant knowledge and expertise in First Aid and associated qualifications.
- Well developed interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with staff at all levels and in emergency situations.
- Well developed computer application skills, including a working knowledge of word processing and development and maintenance of databases and spreadsheets.
