WHO WE ARE:Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.
ROLE REQUIREMENTS:- Qualifications in health-related fields or studying for a health qualification in ExercisePhysiology, Physiotherapy, Sports Science, Osteopathy etc.
- Excellent facilitation skills. You will need the confidence and ability to facilitateinteractive wellbeing sessions on a variety of topics in locations all over Victoria. You willneed to be a specialist in movement and building strength. Session topics includeMovement, Fatigue, Mindfulness, Nutrition and Resilience.
- Flexible work/study hours to accommodate evening and overnight shifts Monday –Wednesday in Melbourne or Regional Victoria.
- Great communication skills and the ability to mentor and motivate our members to setand achieve health and/or fitness goals.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to lead a team and manage the sessions,adapting to the different locations and facilities available.
- Attention to detail and the initiative to work unsupervised.
- Team focus – our team dynamics are important. This is a great opportunity to learn fromeach other and work together to create a successful wellbeing culture.
- Solution focus – the ability to problem solve on the go and a flexible approach to therole.
- Current driver's license.
The health and
Wellbeing Facilitator is a casual role with hours determined by Healthwatchsession demand from VICSES units. Healthwatch sessions (working hours) are typically aMonday, Tuesday or Wednesday evening, to accommodate for VICSES volunteers' availability.Health and
Wellbeing Facilitators average between two and four Healthwatch visits per month,but this can vary.
