Responsible for providing quality and timely preventative maintenance and repairs on the underground mobile equipment, ensuring optimal equipment uptime is achieved to produced required outputs.
The Main Responsibilities Would Include:
- Carry out preventative and breakdown mechanical maintenance works on mobile equipment.
- Diagnosing and troubleshooting of mechanical faults.
- Dismantle and assemble machine parts, engines and replace worn out parts.
- Conduct routine inspections and schedule maintenance of equipment.
- Advise on equipment faults and recommendations for remedy promptly and accurately.
- Completing all administrative requirements associated with maintenance duties.
- Assisting with the training and mentoring of apprentices.
- Perform to trade best practice standards to minimise machinery downtime and ensure that maximum availability is maintained.
Our ideal candidate is someone who can bring the following to the role:
- Relevant Mechanical Trade Certificate.
- 3+ years’ experience with preventative and breakdown maintenance of mobile equipment, ideally in underground mining environment.
- ‘C’ Class Drivers Licence.
- Current High Risk Work Licence.
- Competent understanding of isolation and permitting systems.
- Effective fault finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience in computer-based maintenance systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A positive, respectful attitude and a collaborative teamwork style.
- Strong, motivated work ethic and an ability to work under pressure.
- Sound understanding and belief in safety principals, standards, and legislation.
- Experience working on Sandvik and Epiroc underground equipment (desirable).
- Current Working at Heights Certificate (desirable).
- Current Confined Space Certificate (desirable).
- WP Work Platform (desirable)
- LF Forklift (desirable)
