At JVA Engineering, we provide an end-to-end, tailor-made solution for all types of steel fabrication and structural projects including concept, design, manufacture, installation and maintenance. At present, we have maintenance contracts with several large organisations across various industries.
Our equipment resources include a large workshop with 10m high ceilings, 2 x 10 tonne overhead cranes, lathes, mills, welding equipment for all processes, NDT and Inspection facilities.
This is a Full-Time position and, among others, as Fitter, you will be in charge of:
- Design and analyse hydraulic systems, primary focus on hydraulic systems for cranes, crane trucks, Earthmoving Equipment, complex hydraulic presses such as stamping machines, including pipelines.
- Diagnosing of hydraulic issues on of heavy equipment and machinery.
- Stripping assessing of hydraulic components.
- Rebuilding and reassembly of hydraulic components including cylinders valves, pumps, PTO’s holding valves and various like components.
- Pressure testing of hydraulic circuits to ensure conformity and optimum functionality in accordance with required standards and OEM specifications.
- Prepare detailed engineering plans, drawings, and specifications using industry-standard software.
- Perform hydraulic calculations and simulations to optimize system performance and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines throughout the project lifecycle.
- Provide technical expertise and support during construction and commissioning phases.
- Participate in project meetings, presentations, and client interactions to communicate progress and address concerns.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive engineering designs and solutions.
- Read hydraulic schematics & detailed drawings.
- Manufacture power units from information package supplied from engineering.
- MIG weld, oxy cutting, Basic machining on manual Mill and Lathe, bend tube, fabricate pipe,
- Work in team environment with minimal supervision.
Skills and Experience
- Relevant AQF Certificate III or AQF Certificate IV or equivalent plus 2 years’ work experience in the same occupation or closely related OR at least three years’ work experience in the same occupation or closely related in lieu
- Able to diagnose programable logic controllers (PLC) issues with computer interface.
- Able to read P&IDs
- Must have current working rights and be available for immediate start
- Excellent communication skills – written and verbal
