Embark on a rewarding journey with Cleanaway in Dandenong, VIC, as we seek Experienced Diesel Mechanic to join their friendly team.
To play a vital role in maintaining light and heavy vehicles in accordance with relevant transport legislation and standards. This is a permanent, full-time position with competitive pay rates. All necessary training, including the provision of a Heavy Rigid license under a training plan, will be provided.

Roster:
- 4 day shift roster with 1 week rotation
- Monday - Thursday 130pm to midnight
- Tuesday – Friday 130pm to midnight
- 10.5hr days contributing to RDO’s
Job Responsibilities:
- Motivated self starter mechanic
- Mentor apprentices where required
- Carry out scheduled corrective & preventative maintenance services
- Perform fault diagnostics to detect mechanical and electrical faults
- Test drive and/or operate equipment to ensure repair has been completed correctly
- Ensure all equipment is safe to use and stored correctly
Skills and experience:
- Certificate III Automotive-Mechanical-Heavy Vehicle Road Transport
- Heavy Rigid license (as a minimum)
- Demonstrated supervisory experience with ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- A strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to safety
- Proven experience servicing and maintaining heavy vehicles
- Willing to take a Pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol test
Waste industry experience is not essential.
