Our Heavy Vehicle Mechanics have the opportunity to work on Volvo Trucks, Volvo Buses, Mack and UD Trucks, some of Australia's most innovative transport brands. We are seeking highly skilled and qualified mechanics to work on our trucks full time, or on our buses full time.
What you will doAt Volvo Commercial Vehicles (VCV) Brisbane South, you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. As a Heavy Vehicle Mechanic, your role will include:
- Steering and suspension repairs
- Electrical faults, diagnosis and repairs
- Braking systems diagnosis and repairs
- Component overhauls
- Driveline repairs
- Preventative maintenance services and repairs
- Offisite and breakdown repairs
This role will be based at our Volvo Commercial Vehicles Brisbane South dealership, which forms part of the larger Volvo Group Australia umbrella. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, the team of roughly 90 is made up of Mechanics, Auto-Electricians, Trades Assistants, Apprentices, Service Advisor's and Costing Clerk's. The team pride themselves on running a quality and highly efficient operation, in a supportive and good-humoured team environment.
Who are you?Do you dream big? We do too, and we are excited to grow together. In this role, you will bring:
- A Heavy Commercial Vehicle mechanical qualification (unfortunately we cannot accept Fitter qualifications)
- Ideally 2 + years experience working with Volvo, Mack, or UD trucks / buses
- Some exposure to light auto-electrical work
- A pro-active attitude with a drive to work efficiently
- A positive safety attitude with a team-focused mindset
