Heavy Lift Engineer
Family-owned crane & rigging company is seeking an experienced Heavy Lift Engineer/ Draftsperson to join their team in our Melbourne or Ballarat office.
The Role
As Heavy Lift Engineer you will:
- Plan and design engineered Heavy Lift operations for crane projects, prepare engineering drawings, calculations and procedures relating to the execution and timely completion of projects
- Prepare bid drawings
- Draft and design lay outs of machinery, lifting gear/rigging/materials to maximise efficiency using drafting software and tools
- Perform calculations relating to crane ground bearing pressure, maximum wind speeds/surface are, allowable bearable capacities, structural requirements and rigging designs
Pre-requisites for the role
- Tertiary Civil or Structural Engineering qualifications
- 4+ years' exposure to civil construction in the lifting industry
- Experience in managing sub-contractors and liaising with customers
- Confident in Project Planning, costing, and scheduling
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Computer literate
