About The Role
We currently have a permanent full-time role for a trade qualified and experienced Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic working between both Geelong and Truganina, VIC. Within this role you will be responsible for the service, repair, and maintenance of our specialised fleet vehicles. Your expertise will ensure the optimal performance and longevity of a fleet, contributing to the smooth operation of our organisation.
Working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, your key responsibilities will include:
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, inspections, and repairs on our heavy diesel vehicles
- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and rectify faults in vehicle systems
- Implement and execute preventive maintenance schedules to minimise breakdowns and maximise vehicle reliability
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all maintenance and repair activities
- Complete works in an efficient and timely manner for both planned and unplanned maintenance tasks
- Promote a safe work environment by following proper safety protocols and using appropriate PPE

About You
To be successful for this role, you will have:
- Mechanical trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic is essential
- Previous Volvo experience highly desirable
- Previous experience working on Vac Tricks highly desirable
- Proven experience as a Diesel Fitter / Heavy Diesel Mechanic, with expertise in repairing and maintaining heavy diesel-powered vehicles, previous Volvo experience highly desirable
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
- The ability to work to schedules with strong time management
- Be prepared to work overtime and on roster for call outs
- White Card and unrestricted HR licence highly regarded
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and national Police clearance
