We are looking for an experienced and motivated Heavy Diesel Mechanic who is eager to build upon or further their strong knowledge and skillset within this niche industry.
Reporting to the Operations Manager we will provide on the job training and mentoring within a close-knit workshop team to ensure your success within the role.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Scheduled servicing and routine maintenance of our fleet – prime movers, rigid trucks, trailers, forklifts and light vehicles
- General diagnosis and repairs
- Perform preventative maintenance
- Minor fabrication and welding
- Breakdown duties can be required
- Maintain service records to a high standard
- Working closely with the workshop manager and apprentices
To be successful in this role, you will need the following:
- Trade qualification or significant experience required
- Experienced with Kenworth, Scania and Hino Trucks would be advantageous
- Experience in transport essential
- Experience in service and repairs of trailing equipment
- Current Drivers Licence
- Welding experience preferred but not essential
- Forklift Licence – desirable
- Good 12 volt knowledge is an advantage
- Hands on approach
- Must be able to work unsupervised
Total remuneration is negotiable and competitive rates and conditions will be provided based on experience.
