About the Positions
Due to the recent award of a major contract, multiple new opportunities have arisen to join our team in the Blackwater region.
We are actively seeking experienced Heavy Vehicle Mechanics / Fitters to work a 7/7 day shift only roster.
Core accountabilities include:
- Maintenance on new Volvo, IEE and JCB equipment
- Undertake repairs and servicing in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and requirements
- Work effectively with the maintenance team to achieve the maintenance plan
- Work to priorities as advised by Maintenance Superintendent and Site Supervisors
- Work with Maintenance Supervisors/Site Supervisors to ensure quality maintenance performance, including asset availability
About you
- Previous experience in the maintenance of heavy road vehicles and plant equipment
- Unwavering commitment to safety and efficiency
- Sound mechanical / electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic aptitude
- Experience in fixed manufacturing plant maintenance in the explosive industry highly regarded
- Experience in fault finding and working understanding of low voltage electrical systems and automated safety control systems
- Work Planning and scheduling skills
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in the maintenance of explosive MPU operational safety control systems desired
- Experience working on medium to large sites desirable
What you need
- Trade qualifications in Certificate III in either Heavy Vehicle Mechanical Technology, Mobile Plant Technology Advantageous or Automotive Electrical Technology
- Current drivers licence
- National Police Clearance (Less than 3 months old or willing to obtain)
- QLD Security Clearance for handling explosives (or willing to obtain)
- Current QLD Coal Board Medical (or willing to obtain)
- Standard 11 (or willing to obtain)
- Forklift licence desirable
