Our client is a leading provider of maintenance and design for the Military industry, specialising in maintaining and servicing heavy-duty deisel Hawkei and Bushmaster Vehicles. Together they solve complicated problems by combining their experience in the market with our leading research and development capabilities.
Position Overview:
We are currently seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As part of the Vehicles and Tactical Systems business, their Protected Vehicles team is primarily focused on the design, manufacture, delivery and support of protected mobility vehicles on a global scale. They are very proud of everything they do in support of both the Bushmaster and Hawkei platforms as we all work together towards our Purpose in Building A Future We Can All Trust.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair diesel engines, transmissions, brake systems, electrical systems, and other components in heavy-duty vehicles.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks, to ensure vehicles operate smoothly and efficiently.
- Conduct thorough inspections and utilise diagnostic tools to identify issues accurately and efficiently.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritise workload and complete repairs within established time lines.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organised work environment.
- Keep accurate records of repairs, parts inventory, and maintenance activities.
- Proven experience as a Heavy Duty Diesel Mechanic or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and vehicle components.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record.
- Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen
- Able to obtain National Police Clearance and pass full medical
- Relevant trade qualifications (Heavy Vehicle preferred) coupled with a strong trades background
- Strong technical knowledge, mechanical aptitude and a proven ability to follow set processes
- Team player and natural problem solver with a high attention to detail in everything you do.
