Heavy Vehicle Operator

Location: Mt IsaDue to continued growth the Aurizon Mt Isa Port team is seeking Heavy Vehicle Operator to join their team on a full-time permanent basis.Remuneration/Benefit:

• Local based residents - attractive hourly rate plus location allowance, flexible roster on agreement
• FIFO attractive hourly rate plus FIFO allowance, 8/6 roster available.
• Full time permanent positions working for Australia's Largest Rail Freight Operating Company.

About the role:

• Operating Road Trains in the Mount Isa area.
• Safe Operation of heavy forklifts and reach stackers - loading and unloading containerised product.
• Undertake all tasks in a safe and compliant manner
• Operate all vehicles and equipment in line with company policy and procedures
• Ensure compliance with all safety, fatigue, Heavy Vehicle operating guide lines, loading requirements, axle weights and adhering to vehicle specific permits
• Provide exceptional customer service and maintain a high degree of professionalism.
• Reporting of risks and hazards in the working environment.
• Ongoing training and development available.

About you:

• Safe Driving Record along with your MC licence with min 3-year road train experience.
• Heavy forklift, Reach stacker and Loader tickets (highly regarded), on the job training will be provided and tickets paid for the right candidates if required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills with the ability to complete paperwork such as pre-starts on vehicles, defect reports and other various reporting.
• Mechanical aptitude and the ability to work autonomously.
• Have a strong work ethic, be reliable and punctual.
• Pass pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol test.
• Supply full driving history.
• Sound knowledge of fatigue management and work diary requirements.
