Job Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Herb Quality Packing Supervisor to join our dynamic team. As the Herb Quality Packing Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing the packaging operations of our fresh herbs, ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and efficiency. This role requires a keen eye for detail, strong organizational skills, and a deep understanding of herbal products and their packaging requirements.

Responsibilities:

Supervision and Leadership:

• In collaboration with our Herb Packing Supervisor, you will lead and supervise a team of packing staff to ensure seamless and efficient packaging operations.
• Provide guidance, training, and support to packing team members.
• Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork, productivity, and adherence to quality standards.

Quality Control:

• Implement and enforce quality control measures to guarantee the consistent quality of packaged herb products.
• Conduct regular inspections of the packing process to identify and address any deviations from quality standards.
• Collaborate with the quality assurance team to develop and maintain quality protocols.

Process Optimization:

• Continuously evaluate and improve packing processes to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
• Implement best practices for packaging, including proper handling, labeling, and documentation.
• Work closely with production planners to ensure smooth coordination between packing and production schedules.

Inventory Management:

• Monitor and manage inventory levels of packaging materials to prevent shortages or overstock situations.
• Collaborate with procurement to ensure the timely availability of required packaging materials.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of packaging activities, including batch records, production reports, and quality control documentation.
• Generate regular reports on packing performance, highlighting key metrics and areas for improvement.

Compliance:

• Ensure that all packaging activities comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Stay informed about changes in regulations related to herb products and packaging.

Communication:

• Foster clear and open communication channels between the packing department and other relevant departments, such as production, quality assurance, and logistics.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a packaging or manufacturing environment, preferably in the fresh produce or food industry.
• In-depth knowledge of the different herb products, their characteristics, and specific packaging requirements.
• Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and quality standards in the herbal products industry.
• Proficient in using relevant computer software for documentation and reporting.
• Long term resident of Tasmania
