Rail Equipment Australia is seeking to appoint a new and dedicated Hi-Rail Excavator Operator to join our dynamic and growing team. This role is essential in performing safe and efficient excavations for various Rail Maintenance and Construction Projects across Australia. The ideal candidate will possess a positive attitude, a strong commitment to safety, and a willingness to adapt to different work conditions and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating 14t to 22t Hi-Rail Excavators. [Liebherr & Hitachi]
- Utilise various attachments, including but not limited to Bucket, Forks, Rail Threader, Platypus, Octopus, Undercutter, Mulcher etc.
- Carry out various jobs within the Rail Corridor, including but not limited to Re-Sleepering, Laying new Track, Re-Railing, Excavation, Shoulder work etc.
- Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on the excavator and other heavy equipment, ensuring all machinery is in top working condition.
- Conduct pre-operational checks, clean, lubricate and refill equipment as required.
- Loading and unloading of Excavator[s] and Attachment[s].
- Float movements to and from various locations.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Hi-Rail Excavator Operator across Maintenace and Construction Rail Projects.
- Experience operating both Liebherr and Hitachi Hi-Rail Excavators.
- Hold all relevant certifications and tickets to operate Hi-Rail Excavators within the Rail Corridor.
- Valid RIW card.
- An exceptional understanding of Rail Safety and requirements when working within the Rail Corridor.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to follow directions from Supervision and work effectively as part of a team.
- A commitment to upholding the highest safety standards and adapting to new challenges and environments.
- Ability to operate HC Vehicle and Float will put you at an advantage.
