Welcome to the National Store Loss TeamPlaying a critical role in the Supermarket Loss team; this role exists to support and develop a National investigations strategy to reduce loss through managing external and internal theft/fraud, focused on high theft and harm offenders. You will be the SME on internal and external investigations, including processes, systems (e.g CCTV) and providing support, coaching and guidance to the investigation team and other stakeholders. You will be the key investigations contact to provide support and guidance to both internal and external customers and stakeholders including law enforcement.Utilising your experience and knowledge, implement best practice investigation activities nationally across Woolworths Supermarkets. Play a key role shaping how we manage risk within Woolworths; your voice will be a part of the future of risk management across the nation. Coach, guide and mentor a national team of SMEs to execute the Investigations strategy. Lead and support your team with rollouts of new processes and projects.What you'll doThis role is based in Sydney, NSW and will entail regular travel to local stores, as well as interstate travel, including a weekend roster as required. As the conduit for our store teams, state management, and external partners, you will be responsible for:
  • Lead a team of investigators to respond to incidents and develop/implement measures to reduce future risk associated with acts of violence and aggression
  • Develop the investigation model and tools for store support along with embedding the national investigation framework process
  • Lead and manage investigation resources to provide serious incident and post-incident response
  • Monitor trends and identify emerging offenders with Organised Retail Crime (ORC), coordinate approaches of evidence gathering and brief of evidence preparation, resulting in law enforcement reporting and response
  • Conduct risk mitigation to prevent recurrence of incidents
What you'll bringReporting to our National Stores Loss Manager, this role will flourish with the following skills/experiences:
  • Demonstrated experience leading an Investigation Team in a complex retailer
  • Qualified and experienced investigator, case management and investigation experience and the ability to manage high risk situations with law enforcement experience desirable
  • Experience and passion for coaching and developing others, with strong leadership experience
  • Change management experience with the ability to take your team and stakeholders on the change journey
  • Demonstrated experience with Operational strategy, planning and risk & corporate governance
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to adapt communication styles to stakeholders
