High School Learning Enrichment Coordinator

Samford Valley Steiner School is excited to announce a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated High School Learning Enrichment Coordinator to join our school. This is a rewarding, part-time position commencing in January 2024, offering an opportunity to contribute to a warm and growing school community.

Role Overview: As the High School Learning Enrichment Coordinator, you will work closely with the pedagogy of Steiner education, especially in understanding child development, to design and implement a comprehensive student support program. The program will cater to the diverse needs of our students, encompassing emotional, social, sensory, academic, physical support, and alternative education programs.

Responsibilities:

• Coordination and Support: Provide coordination, support, and advice to the Learning Enrichment team (8-12) by facilitating regular meetings, coordinating rosters, and helping member of the Learning Enrichment team understand their roles.
• Educational Support and Planning: Offer professional expertise and support to the school community in developing Individual Learning Plans (ILP’s) and programs to assist students in achieving positive educational, developmental, and lifelong learning outcomes. Focus on preventative and early intervention strategies, addressing personal, social, emotional, and educational needs while fostering resilience and personal skills development. Liaising and communicating with parents and carers about students and their progress is an essential part of the role.
• Administrative Responsibilities: Manage various administrative duties, such as plans for students attending camps and assessments, coordinating NAPLAN assessments, and organising NCCD evidence and student documentation.
• Collaboration and Resource Development: Work collaboratively with the Learning Enrichment team, teachers, teacher aides and Senior Leadership Team to contribute expertise in planning, teaching, assessing, and monitoring student needs and adjustments. Develop useful resources, assessments, and plans to support teachers in their teaching.
• Multidisciplinary Collaboration and Case Management: Coordinate a multidisciplinary team and facilitate effective working relationships with parents, school staff, and external support agencies. Conduct student observations and assessments to determine appropriate educational adjustments and interventions. Maintain comprehensive and professional record-keeping while balancing privacy and confidentiality for each student. Assist in student interviews and determining adjustments for enrolment in grades K-12.
