Reporting to the Site Manager, the Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) Maintenance and Reliability Superintendent will provide critical Maintenance and Reliability management and leadership to the HME Maintenance Department at the Marulan limestone mine site. Leading a team of mechanical and service trades people, this role will be focused on monitoring our HME which consists of a significant fleet of haul trucks, loaders, excavators, dozers and graders to ensure they are available, working and being utilized efficiently. This role includes controlling our Repairs & Maintenance budget, reducing cost and improving our HME OEE outcomes.

This people leadership role will work alongside the Fixed Plant Maintenance and Reliability Superintendent, to ensure that both HME and Fixed plant are available, efficient and utilized efficiently to meet our budget and statutory obligations / requirements as well as increased production levels at the Marulan mine site.

Your day will involve:

  • Improve and sustain reliability and OEE of all site HME through the utilisation of human and equipment resources, leading change and improvement initiatives
  • Scheduling, coordinating and leading the maintenance team and contractors by ensuring the execution of the maintenance strategies and planned schedule to minimise mechanical costs, maximise equipment availability and meet budget requirements
  • Owning and championing strong safety culture, embedding continuous improvement and enhancing our productivity programs
  • Liaison with OEM’s and suppliers to ensure adequate support is provided to site and all issues are resolved in a timely manner     
  • Contributes to managing and executing 5 year HME Management Plan
  • Manage HME maintenance budgets, track expenditures, and implement cost control measures to optimize maintenance costs.

What are we looking for?

  • Trade qualification with experience in a similar operational role with leadership responsibility in a maintenance environment, ideally within the mining industry
  • Experience in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM), reliability based Maintenance and project management
  • People leadership background with exposure to an industrial, unionised environment
  • General computer proficiency and knowledge of a computerised maintenance management system (CMMS)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a drive to succeed
  • Strong commitment to safety and success
