About You:
We are looking for empathic Support Workers who will travel to different client homes and provide clients with assistance, support, and encouragement of independence to reside in their chosen community.
As a Support Worker, you would be required to:
- Work well with all ages. (children/teens/adults and the elderly)
- Have a nurturing and empathetic nature.
- Reliable & committed to the wellbeing of the clients
- Help with domestic assistance, meal preparation and shopping.
- Assist with transport to and from errands, providing companionship and social support.
- Personal care, including showering, dressing, continence care.
- Be committed to providing consumer directed care.
Mandatory Requirements:
- 1 Year + experience in the Home Care sector
- Experienced in working with a range of physical & mental disabilities, aged and dementia
- NDIS youth experience preferred but not mandatory
- Physical manual handling and hoisting experience is a must
- Ability to work a mixture of weekday and weekend shifts & available to work a minimum of 2 shifts per week
- Certificate III or higher in Aged Care, Disability, individual support or Home and Community Care (HACC), or equivalent
- Current Federal Police Check
- Current First Aid and CPR Certificate
- Current Covid vaccination and state government booster requirements
- Unrestricted driver’s licence
- Reliable vehicle
- Full Comprehensive Insurance, vehicle registration
- Current paid employee Blue Card
- Current paid employee Yellow Card/NDIS Worker Clearance.
- Smart phone with internet access
- Two current (within the past 2 years) professional industry based references. One of those references will be required from a Supervisor/ Management role & at least one reference must be able to confirm manual handling/hoisting experience.
