Enrolled Nurses - $41.10 + penalties + superannuation (inc. cas loading) based on experience.
Support Workers/ Nursing Students- $40.26 + penalties + superannuation (inc. cas loading) based on experience.

Due to ongoing expansive growth, QHACS (Queensland Health Academy’s Care Service) is looking for motivated Enrolled Nurses, Nursing Students and Support Workers to provide holistic and person-centred community nursing care and support to our clients.
The Enrolled Nurse is responsible for the delivery of safe and effective nursing care, under the direction of the Registered Nurse (RN).
The Support Worker / Nursing Student provides support as per support and care plan alongside an Enrolled Nurse to ensure optimum health outcomes.
Working in a team of two, you will support clients with complex medical needs.
Duties & Responsibilities (depending on qualifications):
- Deescalate and provide mental health support and manage and provide a safe and calm environment around escalating behaviours
- Adhere to positive behaviour support plans and implementing documented strategies to best support positive outcomes for the participant
- Contributing to the development, modification, and evaluation of care plans
- Administration of medications
- IMI and Sub cut injections
- Ventilation and tracheostomy care
- Able to administer insulin using sliding scale
- Attending to wound dressings
- Attending to catheter flushes
- Visiting client homes to provide nursing care
- Work a Rotating Roster
- Complete comprehensive progress notes
- Liaise with GPs, care coordinators, RNs and allied health
- Provide direction and supervision to Support Workers
- Attend to medical emergencies and provide first aid as required

Essential requirements (selection criteria):
- Current AHPRA registration as an Enrolled Nurse with no restrictions (ENs)
- Diploma of Nursing (ENs) or Working towards a Diploma/Bachelor of Nursing
- Certificate III or equivalent for Support Workers
- International nursing qualifications looked on favorably for those on working visas
- Willingness to work occasional night duty including inactive sleepovers
- First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to acquire)
- National Police Check (or willingness to acquire)
- Worker Screening check (or willingness to acquire)
- Ability to work within indirect supervision
- Proven technological, communication and time management skills
- A passion for providing quality care
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Driver's license and own vehicle
- Willing to travel to client's homes
- Covid-19 full vaccination
*May consider new graduates nurses with a carer or Support Worker background.
