One of our clients, a local council within the Kew area, is looking for a Horticultural Specialist to join their passionate team.
This Job is a casual role, however, will be for 38 hours per week and could lead onto gaining a full-time contract.
Your shift will start at 7.00am and will end at 3.00pm
Pay Rate: $36 Per Hour + Superannuation. (Payrate negotiable, depending on experience)
The primary role of the Horticultural Specialist is to support the development, care and maintenance of parks, formal gardens, streetscapes, carparks and Council properties.
You will Need:
A minimum Certificate 3 in Horticulture.
Relevant tickets in traffic control & Agvet chemical user.
Certificate of competency for Front end Loader & light Rigid Truck Licence.
Australian manual driver’s licence.
Relevant practical experience in maintaining and developing horticultural features in high quality open space.
Ability to undertake work practices that comply with Safe Work Procedures and Risk Management strategies.
Good time management and organisation skills & ability to prioritise & manage workload.
Ability to meet the physical demands of the position (pre-employment medical required)
You will be:
Maintaining horticultural assets with the utilisation of best practice techniques to ensure good plant health & aesthetically pleasing garden beds.
Assessing and prioritising works to ensure all sites are visited at required frequencies & to defines standards.
Operating and maintaining irrigation systems to ensure systems are working efficiently and that plants (including turf) are not stressed from lack of water.
Undertaking site audits, site visits and functions recorded as per guidelines.
